Visual Advocacy
It has been interesting to read how everyone feels about our readings. The way I see it sort of the same as Travis. The bottom line is that as beginners we , or I know that I need to make money to pay my student loans, and raise my family. Not that I do not care about being a responsible designer, but I have to put my family first, and the fact is is that there are bills to be paid. Picking and choosing responsible design, is risky. I wish there was something in the readings that gave us a point of view on this, being a freshly out of school, new designer, with horrendous debt from school. How did they go about being so responsible. I think there are a lot of opinions with no answers, while we are all facing the scary reality of making it, and paying these loans off. I don't want to sound cold hearted, but this is where my reality is is sort of like the story goes, the guy who is kind, and does all he can for others, is the first to be taken advantage of and so on. So where is the answer to all of this? Am I supposeds to feel bad for trying to make it and feed my family while designing cigg packaging. I mean the fact is is that we all are going to get a job, and before we have a strong understanding of the design profession as professionals, we are all going to need a paycheck!
