On wednesday I wanted to talk about Nike and thier P.L.A.Y. program, but we didn't get to it (whata waste) Anyway it really really pisses me of that NIKE puts up the good guy flag of donating to ghetto basketball courts, when really they are getting tax deducted advertising space. I mean is it a win win situation or is it exploitation of poor communities and the people who live in them? The article tends to make feel more like it is exploitation... but that was kinda the overall tone.
Any ideas? I'd like to rant on this, but need more info.
P.S. In the tarvis power hour of news this week a kid was robbed on the street for his new jordans, however the robber let the kid keep his money for the bus fare. What The Fuck ? Perhaps NIKE should hook up the owners of high profile shoes (like the new jordans) with small bottles of mace for just such an instance. They could be part of program call D.E.F.E.N.S.E. and the bottles of mace will be designer colors with NIKE swooshes on them! Oh oh wait the mace canisters will be in the form of NIKE swooshes they'll give em out for free if you fill out a survey on coolness and give NIKE all your personal info. Yah Yah
