The bottom line is...
that there is no bottom line. You know, I've been hesitant to blog this semester because there isn't too much to say that can truly make lucid to me not only who designers are, but likewise, where our efforts in the field should be focused. I compare Visual Advocacy to my Philosophy of Religion class. The readings are similar. At least, my interpretations of the texts are pretty congruent. Basically, being Agnostic is the way to go. Everyone is happy then, right? There isn't evidence for belief or disbelief. So, everyone is covered, and there are no wrong answers. It's whatever floats your boat, and that's almost a bottom line. It's as close as I've gotten: a little corporate here, a little challenging my ethics there, throw in a couple freebies and there's your career. It's a giant compromise; and for now at least, I'm okay with that. If I'm too accepting of the status quo, then so be it.
