Not that ironic
This article seemed to restate the content of the last. To an extent people do see through trendy advertising yet they still buy the products. The article states that the "cool" trend is to wear clothing that has not yet become mainstream. This being so, how is a company suppose to sell that image when by doing so it is making the image mainstream. The most successful way to sell an item, in my opinion, would be to have a jump on the rest of the competition when defining a cool, non-mainstream trend. Companies do this, like the text states, by sending spy's out in the world to see whats considered cool. The only problem with this is that soon every company will be selling the same trend rendering it mainstream and non-cool. If people want to be different they should define their individual style, and not base it of of what the other "different" people are doing. The best idea, while being risky, would be for a company to reinvent or come up with their own style. If it catches on everyone will know that they did it first, and will want to purchase their clothing over the competitors.
