youth marketing

I had a alight hard time understanding this reading, but what I got out of it is that companies started to be more focused on teens and hit them with consumerism and lables. I mean it is a strategy, it sux but teens are crazy. They want what's cool and trendy. I was in Moscow this past summer and was taking a walk with my girlfriend. and we saw two girls their age was probably 13, and exCUse me our mouth just dropped. Lena said to me do you remmember us when we were that age? I said yeah and we did not look like that. Fashion changed so much. I mean if me and Lena showed up to class looking like Paris Hilton, we would of gotten an apsence for the day and loads of embarrasment. Today teens follow this rutine that media, fashion and advertisement projects.
