Nick @ Nite: NOW & THEN

Legg! Totatally agree with what you are saying. This takes me right back to the mid to late eighties. I would spend the night at my Grandma Dorothy's house from time to time. It was such a luxury since she lived in town and had cable...something a country boy like myself dreamed of. Me and Grandma would always watch Nick At Nite..watching shows such as Bewitched, Father Knows Best, i think the Brady Bunch was the only thing presented in color! At this time, I felt like these shows were so old, completely from a different age and time, but the whole time thinking they were the best shows ever. Now lets fast forward to the current Nick At Nite viewings. Full House, Roseanne, The Cosby Show...oh my god, is everyone thing what I am thinking?! Shows of our childhood are now being thought of in a way I thought of the Mary Tyler Moore Show! In the words of Michelle Tanner "no way dude!", or was it Stephanie...i'll have to get back to you on that one. I feel this really relates to "cool" in all senses of it. In current fashion treands, you are seeing things projected back to fashions of the late 70's to the 80's, of course with a new spin on it. Why wouldn't this be the same with media, design even. Just as todays youth is loving the way Darlene Conner is rebelious, Kimmy Gibbler is annoying, and Rudy Huxtable (sp?) is stealing cookies from the cookie jar, I was thinking that Marcia Brady had the prettiest hair, are Morky and Mindy real people?, and singing the Laverne & Shirley theme song were all very cool. Cool is what you make it. Cool? COOL!
