Democrats Opening Assault On Bush Security Policies

Ok, so I picked a different article to work with for project three. This one is about a set of proposals that the leading Democrats in congress recently unveiled titled “Real Security: Protecting America and Restoring Our Leadership in the World.” It is an attack on the administrations current security policies both at home and overseas. The proposal includes, increasing financing for Special Operations forces, increasing financing for economic development in troubled areas like the Middle East and South Asia, demand for more military equipment, additional port security, and stronger efforts to stop nuclear weapons development. The proposal also calls for the United States to achieve “energy independence” by 2020 by increasing production of alternative fuels. This is the part I would like to focus on for this project.
