This was a initiative created by Thomas Starr that memorialized children and young adults killed in urban violence within Boston from 1980 - 2005. I love this bus so much because it focuses on individual people not statics. They become real because there is a story behind each person. And the way that the individuals are represented give us something that we can relate to and tells us all how the world would be better with them in it. I gives me hope in all we can be and do my fellow classmates. Hooray for graphic design, for our future, and us!

Jessica, thanks for posting this! It makes me want to weep too (in a good way)!
I think this idea demonstrates a strong point obviously in relaying a message across. But I worry with the amount of context present if legibility and readability will be compromised. However it is asethically pleasing though and portrays a nice approach to a strong message.
I really like the idea behind the bus graphics. It is a very strong message. It is nice to see a cause on a bus instead of the usual advertisements. I am not crazy about the aesthetic. It is nice that they focus on the individual but, it seems like those phrases could be about any one. It would be nice to see some actual names.
That has got to be a somber bus to ride on, I love they way that they handled it though. The Use of color really makes the bus visible and bet the message out there. So often we see buses driving around town that have some sort of advertisment on them. the use of the overall graphics process has turned busses into a huge marketing tool.
I think this is different though because the message isn't just one of selling, they want to shock people with these numbers of violence and how its effected people. I really like how they used as many surfaces as possible on the bus, not just the outside, but they also put posters on the inside that had more detailed information for people to read as they sit.
I've seen this before and it gets me every time. I think this is a great way for a memorial. It sends a very strong message and gets to the viewers on an emotional level, which is very effective.
