Check out these enlightening ads released by the Corn Refiner's Association regarding the wonderful substance, High Fructose Corn Syrup. What's your take?
i checked out all three ads and then laura's parody. i then went to the holistic health (or whatever it was called) website at the end of the parody ad. apparently high fructose corn syrup cannot be called "natural" according to basic FDA standards. the article i found was a bit confusing, but it seemed like the manufacturing process for HFCS alters chemical bonds, and it therefore cannot be labeled as "natural". all that to say that the corn refiners association is being misleading when they say "...that it comes from corn". yes, true, but the implication is that "it's natural" because it comes from corn, but apparently the path is somewhat convoluted.

it has some simpler info that paints a pretty neutral picture of HFCS vs sugar.
lesson: language is very very tricky and is often used in very subtle ways. stay critical and watch its use in your own design work.
