There is an interesting article on the swastika by Steven Heller and how it functions in cartoons. I thought it would be good to check out for those who studied the Nazi Propaganda Movement and also just for this class in general.

i have to admit i think these are pretty funny. it's not as if they actually have anti-semitic or fascist content.
the joke, i guess, is it's neutering the symbol and the politics associated with it. it also tends to make me think about how "regular people" are complicit in, or benefit from, evil in the process of living their lives. that's what the swastika slinky and couch brought to mind.
i don't know what to say to anyone who's offended by the image of a pudgy nazi with a swastika armband eating a hot dog wrapped in a swastika armband. sorry. i think that's hilarious
