friday march/rally

here is the latest info i've seen if you're interested:

... we are gathering at Revolution Church (one block north of the hurricane) at 4:00. At 4:20, we will begin moving out and will have a joyous time, showing the City of Kansas City that we do NOT welcome racism and xenophobia to our Community. After the short march and prayers for the Minutemen and our City, we will return to Revolution Church around 5:30 for a Celebration, Music and a time of sharing. The evening will conclude by 6:45 - so get down there early. We're hoping for a MASSIVE turn-out - even in the cold.

I drove by it looked like some crowd. How did it turn out?

it was good overall. like most protests/marches, it had its good and bad points. i think there were maybe 300-400 people there, from various backgrounds. the diversity was a refreshing change. the way i see it, much of what really gets communicated through activity like that is a base level awareness that there is an issue there. people driving by see something's up, people see it on the news (hopefully), and maybe they realize the issue with the border and immigration is worth thinking about. i don't expect we changed any minutemen's minds with what we did. that needs to happen in a much different forum.
